Dear students!

As registered participant, you are looking forward to join the I3 project course starting Tuesday (04.03.2025) at 8:00 in the GI Lecture room at TechnoZ Itzling, Building 14, 1st floor. Welcome!

As a collaborating platform we are going to use the eLearning platform Moodle (https://gwb.schule.at/course/view.php?id=1979). Please find attached a guideline on the registration and enrolment process.

At present, the process of setting up the eLearning platform is ongoing. Please have a first look to the requirements outlined in the IP Integrated Project 2025.pdf (first version). Please ensure, you are prepared with the content outlined in the first lesson!

For the time being, please start thinking about a project, which is worth to work on more than 20 hours in a week for the remaining 15 active semester weeks (this is excluding semester breaks). This project should include spatial-temporal aspects to be analysed with GI Science methodology including GIS and/or Earth Observation tools. Please be aware that you are having 12 ECTS (300 hours) of work in front of you! Please design your additional study courses and your private time resources time accordingly.

To start right away and to avoid losing valuable time resources, please

  1. briefly think about a project title (8 to 12 words),
  2. think about a pronounceable acronym of your project,
  3. write a few lines of text as a half-page abstract, and
  4. formulate some keywords (words not included in the title).

For the design of the abstract, please consider the eLearning materials provided in the folder "01 Introduction to the Course". Specifically use the ProjectAbstract.docx for your writing and ProjectAbstractExample.pdf for reading an example and bring your abstract printed to the second session. In case you are still searching for an IP topic, please send a request to Hermann Klug (Hermann.Klug@plus.ac.at) as soon as possible or search for a topics in our MSc thesis blog (https://zgis-theses.blogspot.com/). These topics also qualify for the I3 work to be done. We also might have some open topics available in our international research projects.

Looking forward meeting with you soon and in case of any questions, please ask!

kind regards, Hermann
